Course Description<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The \u201cFundamentals of Engineering Others\u201d course provides a comprehensive introduction to the foundational principles and concepts engineering in general. It covers a wide range of topics essential for understanding the field of different engineering sectors (basics) and some general basics topics such as math and chemistry. It can be considered as a review course for all engineering sectors.  This course is part of University of Arizona\u2019s Continuing and Professional Education program, geared towards helping you start a career in engineering. Passing the FE exam is a requirement for many engineering disciplines in order to become certified as an \u201cEngineer in Training\u201d (EIT). EIT marks the first step towards becoming a licensed or \u201cProfessional\u201d engineer. This course is driven towards maximizing your chance at passing the FE exam during your first try. The class utilizes an online teaching style to optimize your learning time and offer personalized help to best set you up for success<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This course includes the basics of the following topics: Introduction, Math 1, Math 2, Math 3, Economics, Chemistry, Statics, Dynamics, Fluid Mechanics, Thermodynamics, Heat Transfer, Material Science, Mechanics of Materials, Electricity & Magnetism, DC Electricity, AC Electricity, Electronics, Computers and Ethics<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The distance education program works as follows:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n


\u2022 Each course is 8 weeks in duration.
\u2022 You will receive a set of notes each week covering the course material via the internet. In addition, you will receive practice problems and assignments very similar to the associations\u2019 past exams.
\u2022 A one-hour conference meeting session will be conducted by your instructor each week. The objective of this session is to assist in solving the assignments as well as answer student questions that should be sent to the instructor early enough prior to the meeting time. In addition, by being able to communicate with the instructor, you will also be able to communicate with other students in the same class and watch their questions answered as well.
\u2022 Each set of assignments must be completed and submitted by the indicated date and your completed assignment will be marked and returned by your instructor.
\u2022 Upon completion of the assignments, you will be sent a final exam. It is recommended that you try to simulate the actual exam conditions (i.e., no aids and a time limit) when writing it. You will then submit this final exam for review and marking.
